Run an MMA fight

Run the round clock, score each round on the 10-point must system, keep three judges' cards and put the result on screen, all from one dashboard.

A fight card moves fast: rounds, a one-minute break, then another fight. The ScoreCastr MMA dashboard keeps the round clock, the round scores, the judges' cards and the result in one place, so the scorebug always shows the right round and time. This guide walks through every control, round by round.

Short versionPick the round, press Start and Stop on the clock, and score each round with the 10, 9 and 8 buttons. Enter the judges' cards after each round. When it's over, choose the Winner and Win Method and click Declare as Winner.

Create the fight

Pick MMA on the Select Sport screen. Enter each fighter's name and record, then the Fight Details: the weight class, Scheduled Rounds (3 Rounds or 5 Rounds) and Round Length (3 Minutes or 5 Minutes). See Create your first match for the rest of the setup. Open the fight with Control Dashboard; the Scoring tab is headed MMA FIGHT CONTROLS.

Fighter 1 is the first fighter you entered, and Fighter 2 the second.

The round clock

The ROUND TIMER & CONTROLS card is always open.

  • ROUND: one button per scheduled round. Clicking a round makes it current and sets the clock back to a full, stopped round. Clicking the current round again resets its clock.
  • TIME REMAINING: counts down from the round length. Start and Stop run and pause it; Reset puts it back to a full round.
  • The clock stops by itself at 0:00, and keeps running if you switch to another dashboard tab.
  • Set FINAL marks the fight as over. The round box then reads FINAL.
TipAt the end of a round, click the next round button during the break. The clock is then ready at full time, stopped, so you only need Start when the referee restarts the fight.

Score each round

The SCORING CONTROLS card scores the round that's current, on the 10-point must system.

  1. Under each fighter, click a Quick Score: 10, 9 or 8. A typical round is 10 for the winner and 9 for the other fighter.
  2. For any other number, type it into Manual Entry.
  3. ROUND 1 SCORES (or whichever round) shows both scores, and Total beside each name adds up every round.

The SCORECARD underneath shows every round, R1 to R3 or R5, for both fighters.

The three judges' cards

The JUDGE SCORECARDS (10-Point Must System) card keeps a separate card for each of three judges.

  1. Type the names into Judge 1 Name, Judge 2 Name and Judge 3 Name.
  2. A round's entry boxes open once that round is complete, which means once you've moved on to the next round. Until then the card says "Complete Round 1 to enter judge scores". After you set FINAL, every round opens.
  3. For each judge, type both fighters' scores for the round.

JUDGE TOTALS adds up each judge's card. The Scoreboard graphic shows the judges' cards for the rounds that are complete.

Fighter stats

The FIGHTER STATISTICS card (Starter plan) counts four stats for each fighter: Sig. Strikes, Takedowns, Knockdowns and Sub Attempts. Use + and - on each side.

The eye button next to each stat name puts that stat on a strip on the scorebug, both fighters side by side, updating live. Only one stat shows at a time. Click the eye again to hide it.

Declare the result

Open WINNER DECLARATION:

  1. Winner: No Winner Yet, either fighter, or Draw.
  2. Win Method: KO (Knockout), TKO (Technical Knockout), Submission, Decision, DQ (Disqualification) or No Contest.
  3. For anything but a decision, fill in Win Round and Win Time (MM:SS).
  4. Click Declare (fighter) as Winner. This sets the fight to FINAL.

The scorebug then shows a WINNER tab over the winner, or DRAW over both, with the method, like "KO · R2 3:14". A draw only shows a method if it's Decision.

The Shortcuts card

The SHORTCUTS card's VISIBILITY section has HIDE SPONSOR LOGO / SHOW SPONSOR LOGO and SHOW TITLE / HIDE TITLE. The title is the Title you set on the Score Bug graphic (Overlays, then Customization, then Score Bug).

On Apex and Primetime, the card adds KNOCKDOWN and TAKEDOWN, with a button in each fighter's color. One press adds the stat to that fighter and plays the flag on the scorebug.

Graphics for MMA

Under Overlays, then Customization (Starter), MMA has the scorebug, scoreboard, title card, lower thirds, keys, talent, ticker and watermark. Fight-specific touches:

  • Title Card: Fighter 1 Record and Fighter 2 Record, like 14-2-0.
  • Keys to Match: a column of keys for each fighter, Fighter 1 Keys and Fighter 2 Keys.
  • The lower thirds are called Away Lower Third and Home Lower Third.

MMA has no lineups or player bios, and no Match Statistics panel in the sidebar; the scorecard and fighter stats live on the Scoring tab.
