Shortcut codes: graphics and universal scoring

Every 4-digit code that shows and hides a graphic, plus the universal scoring codes used by tennis and pickleball, in one place.

Updated 4 min readStarter

This is the lookup table for the codes that aren't tied to one sport: the graphics codes, which work the same in every sport, and the universal scoring codes, which run tennis and pickleball. Use it to label Stream Deck keys, program a macro pad or print a cheat sheet for the person on the buttons. Sport codes, from soccer's 2100s to field hockey's 2800s, are in Shortcut codes by sport.

Short versionWith Listening Mode on, codes 1001 to 1021 show and hide graphics in any sport: 1001 is the scorebug, 1002 the scoreboard, 1003 the title card. Codes 2001 to 2018 score points and set the serve in tennis and pickleball.

Before you use them

  • Codes need Listening Mode, the ear icon in the Overlay Visibility panel. That panel comes with the Starter plan. See Set up a Stream Deck.
  • A code fires on its fourth digit. No Enter.
  • Each graphics code works like clicking that graphic's button in Overlay Visibility: press once to show, again to hide.
  • Graphics codes work from any dashboard tab. Universal scoring codes work while the Scoring tab is open.
  • Fill in each graphic under Overlays, then Customization, before you put it on air. A code only switches it on or off.

Team sports here means soccer, football, basketball, volleyball, ice hockey, field hockey, baseball and softball. Use only the codes for graphics your sport has: the Overlay Visibility panel lists them.

The Keyboard Shortcuts list in the app (the keyboard icon next to the ear) shows 1009 and 1010 on baseball and softball matches only, and doesn't list 1021, though it works.

There's no single code for Go to Break. To do the same from a Stream Deck, use two keys or a multi-action: 1001 to hide the scorebug and 1002 to show the scoreboard, then the same two again to come back.

Universal scoring codes (2001 to 2099)

The universal codes are the scoring codes for tennis and pickleball, which don't have their own range. In other sports they do nothing; those sports use their own codes.

Points and serve

Code Action Tennis Pickleball
2002 Team 1 Score +1 Player 1 wins the point Side 1 point
2001 Team 1 Score -1 Takes a point back Takes a point back
2005 Team 2 Score +1 Player 2 wins the point Side 2 point
2004 Team 2 Score -1 Takes a point back Takes a point back
2003 Team 1 Player 1 Serving Player 1 serving Side 1, server 1
2007 Team 1 Player 2 Serving Player 1 serving Side 1, server 2 (doubles)
2006 Team 2 Player 1 Serving Player 2 serving Side 2, server 1
2008 Team 2 Player 2 Serving Player 2 serving Side 2, server 2 (doubles)

Set the game score directly (tennis only)

Code Action
2009 / 2010 / 2011 / 2012 / 2013 Player 1 to 0 / 15 / 30 / 40 / ADV
2014 / 2015 / 2016 / 2017 / 2018 Player 2 to 0 / 15 / 30 / 40 / ADV

Use these to fix a game score quickly without stepping through points.

A few limits, all from the dashboard's own rules:

  • In tennis, the point codes don't work during a tiebreak. Score tiebreak points on the dashboard. See Tennis scoring.
  • Pickleball ignores 2009 to 2018.
  • Scoring codes stop once a side has won the match, and after End Match. Graphics codes still work.

There are no ready-made Stream Deck profiles for tennis or pickleball, but there is a Universal scoring profile with these codes, linked from Set up a Stream Deck. You can also build the keys yourself with the Text action.

Build a graphics page

A useful first Stream Deck page, or row of macro keys, for any sport:

Key Code
SCOREBUG 1001
SCOREBOARD 1002
TITLE 1003
L3 AWAY / L3 HOME 1004 / 1005
TICKER 1021
WATERMARK 1015

The ready-made Graphics profile covers this too. See Set up a Stream Deck, or Use a numpad or X-Keys for other keypads.

Checklist

  • Listening Mode on before the first code
  • Each graphic filled in under Customization
  • Only codes for graphics your sport has
  • Scoring tab open for 2001 to 2018
  • Keys tested before the game
