Title cards with team records

The title card sets up the game before it starts: both teams with logos, mascots and records, and where it's being played. Fill it in once and show it before kickoff or tip-off.

The first thing a viewer should see is who's playing and where. The Title Card is ScoreCastr's matchup graphic: both teams side by side with their logos, mascots and records, and the venue underneath. This guide covers every field, what each template shows and when to put it on air.

Short versionOpen Overlays > Customization > Title Card and fill in the logos, mascots, records and venue. Before the start, click Show Title Card in the Overlay Visibility panel, and hide it when play begins. Needs the Starter plan.

What you need

  • The Starter plan, for the Customization sub-tab and the Overlay Visibility panel.
  • Optional: each team's record, and both teams saved in My Teams so their mascot and logo come in at match setup.

Fill in the title card for team sports

  1. Open the match's Control Dashboard.
  2. Open Overlays, then Customization, then Title Card.
  3. Fill in the fields:
Field What it shows
Away Logo, Home Logo Each team's logo on the card. Without one, it uses the scorebug team logo
Away Team, Home Team The team names. Use the full school name here
Away Team Mascot, Home Team Mascot The line under each name, like "Tigers"
Away Team Record, Home Team Record Each record, like 5-2
Venue, City, State The location line, shown as VENUE - CITY, STATE
Sponsor Logo (Network Logo in baseball and softball) The logo at the top of the card

This layout is for soccer, football, basketball, volleyball, ice hockey, field hockey, baseball and softball. Logos must be images under 5 MB. Text saves a moment after you stop typing.

The Sponsor Logo here is the same logo as the scorebug's sponsor logo: changing it in one place changes both. In basketball, ice hockey and field hockey, the scorebug's Logo, if you've set one, goes at the top of the card instead.

Watch outIf you typed a record or the venue when you created the match, the title card keeps showing that one, and changing Away Team Record, Venue, City or State here won't change it on air. Only details left blank at setup can be filled in here. Check the card in Live Preview before the game.

MMA, tennis and pickleball

These sports have a different set of fields:

  • Left Logo and Right Logo
  • Title and Subtitle
  • Player 1 Name Override and Player 2 Name Override (and Player 3 and 4 in doubles), to show a different name than the scorebug's
  • Fighter 1 Record and Fighter 2 Record in MMA, for example 14-2-0

In MMA, the Subtitle is the weight class line, and the Left and Right Logo are photos of each fighter. On Classic, fill in the Subtitle and both records: an empty weight class shows sample text, and an empty record shows 0-0.

On Apex and Primetime, tennis and pickleball also get Player 1 Record and Player 2 Record, and the Left and Right Logo show as player photos. On Classic, tennis and pickleball show them as two logos beside the title.

How it looks on each template

Classic Apex and Primetime
Layout Logo at the top, teams side by side, venue below Event logo, teams either side of VS, venue line with a map pin
Empty mascot Shows sample text (PATRIOTS, TIGERS) Left out
Empty record Shows 0-0 Left out
No venue No location line No location line
No team logo No logo The team's short name in the logo spot
Colors The Title Card's Color Customization panel Graphics Template colors

On Classic, fill in every mascot and record you have, so the card doesn't show sample text. On Apex and Primetime, empty fields simply don't appear.

Show it on air

In the Overlay Visibility panel, click Show Title Card. It turns to Hide Title Card while on air. With Listening Mode on, code 1003 does the same.

A simple rhythm:

  1. Show the title card as the stream starts, over a wide shot of the field or court.
  2. Leave it up for the opening welcome.
  3. Hide it before play begins, and make sure the scorebug is on.

You can bring it back at halftime as a reminder of the matchup, or pair it with the scoreboard at the final. See Show and hide graphics.

Channel Assignment

Channel Assignment at the top of the Title Card section picks Channel 1, Channel 2 or Both Channels. If you run full-screen graphics on a second channel, put the title card there. See Two output channels.

Names on the card and the scoreboard

The title card's Away Team and Home Team are linked to the Scoreboard's. Changing one changes the other. Changing a name in the Score Bug section also copies the short name into both. If you edit scorebug names, set the full names here afterwards. See Edit match details.

Fix common problems

The card shows PATRIOTS or 0-0. That's Classic's sample text for an empty mascot or record. Fill in the mascot and record fields.

The record or venue won't change. It was set when the match was created, and that one takes priority. See the Watch out above.

The card shows the short scorebug name. A scorebug name change copied it in. Type the full name in Away Team or Home Team.

"File Too Large". Use a PNG or JPG under 5 MB.
