Maybe you started on Free and now want the full graphics set for the playoffs, or you took Pro for a busy season and want to drop back to Starter. You can change plans whenever you like, from your account. This guide covers each kind of change step by step, what you'll pay, and what happens to matches you've already set up. For what each plan includes, see Free, Starter, Pro and Enterprise.
Where to change your plan
- Click your username at the top right, then Billing & Plan.
- The Billing & Subscription page opens. Under Current plan you'll see your plan and, on a paid plan, your Next billing date.
- Click Upgrade plan (on Free) or Change plan (on a paid plan). Both take you to the pricing page.
When you're signed in, each plan's button on the pricing page tells you what it will do:
| Button | What it means |
|---|---|
| Current plan | The plan you're on. The button is greyed out. |
| Upgrade to ... | A higher plan. It starts straight away. |
| Switch to ... | A lower paid plan. It starts at your next billing date. |
| Go to app | Shown on Free when you're signed in. It takes you to your matches; it doesn't change your plan. |
The buttons stay greyed out for a moment while the page checks your current plan. Wait for them to light up before you click.
Upgrade from Free
- On the pricing page, click Upgrade to Starter, Upgrade to Pro or Upgrade to Enterprise.
- The secure checkout page opens. Enter your card details there. If you have a promotion code, you can add it on the checkout page.
- When the payment goes through, you come back to Billing & Subscription and see "Payment successful!". Your new plan is active right away.
Prices show in your local currency where ScoreCastr supports it (USD, GBP, EUR, CAD or AUD), and checkout charges that currency. Everywhere else, it's US dollars.
If you leave the checkout page without paying, you go back to the pricing page and nothing changes.
Upgrade a paid plan
Moving from Starter to Pro, for example:
- On the pricing page, click Upgrade to Pro.
- A box asks Upgrade to Pro? It tells you the switch is immediate and that a prorated charge for the remaining days of your billing period goes on your card on file right away.
- Click Confirm upgrade.
You'll see "Plan upgraded" and return to the billing page. The new plan's features are on straight away, and your next full bill, on your usual billing date, is at the new rate. ScoreCastr also emails you to confirm the change.
Move to a lower paid plan
Moving from Pro to Starter, for example:
- On the pricing page, click Switch to Starter.
- A box asks Switch to Starter? It shows the date you keep your current plan until, and says No charge is made today.
- Click Confirm switch.
You'll see "Downgrade scheduled". Back on the billing page, a Plan change scheduled notice says which plan you're on until which date, and which plan you move to after that. You keep everything on your current plan until then. From that date you're billed the lower rate.
Move to Free
There's no Free button for this on the pricing page. To go back to Free, cancel your paid subscription: on Billing & Subscription, click Cancel subscription. You keep your paid plan until the end of the period you've paid for, then the account moves to Free. See Cancel, refunds and billing questions.
If you cancel and then upgrade before the period ends, the cancellation is dropped and the subscription carries on at the new plan.
What happens to your matches
A plan change never deletes matches, teams or graphics settings. What changes is what you can use:
| After the change | What happens |
|---|---|
| A match set to Apex or Primetime, on Free | The overlay draws the match in Classic. Your template choice and colors stay saved, so they come back if you upgrade again. |
| More active matches than the new plan allows | Your matches stay. You can't create a new one until you're under the new limit. Delete matches you're done with, or wait for them to pass 24 hours. See Run several matches at once. |
| Starter features, on Free | Overlay Visibility, the Customization sub-tab and My Teams show as locked. |
| Pro features, on Starter or Free | The Data Hub, StatsCastr and My Commercials show as locked. |
An overlay that's already open in OBS checks the plan every few minutes, so a match can switch to Classic mid-stream once a downgrade takes effect. Check your template before you go live on the first game after the change. See Switch templates.
Fix common problems
"You are already on this plan." The plan you picked is the one you have. Refresh the pricing page to see your current plan marked.
You changed your mind about a scheduled switch. The app has no button to undo it. Contact support before the switch date. See Contact support.
The billing page still shows your old plan after checkout. Refresh the page after a few seconds. The payment and the plan update arrive separately.
