Create a team with colors and a logo

Save each team once, with its name, scorebug name, colors and logo. Every new match against them then fills in from a dropdown.

If you stream the same school every week, typing its name, colors and logo into every match gets old fast. My Teams stores each team once. When you create a match, you pick the team from a list and ScoreCastr fills in the details and the roster. This guide covers creating, editing and organizing saved teams.

Short versionClick your username, then My Teams, then Add a Team. Fill in Team Name, Scorebug Name, Sport, the logo and the two colors, and click Create Team. In a new match, pick it under Select from My Teams. Needs the Starter plan.

What you need

  • The Starter plan or higher. On Free, My Teams shows a lock in the account menu.
  • The team's logo as an image file, and its colors as hex codes if you have them.

Create a team

  1. Click your username at the top right, then My Teams.
  2. Click Add a Team. The Create a New Team window opens.
  3. Fill in the fields:
    • Team Name: the full name, for example "Marlow Herons". This is the only required field.
    • Scorebug Name: the short name for the scorebug, up to 12 characters, for example "MAR".
    • Team Mascot: optional.
    • Sport: soccer, baseball, softball, football, basketball, volleyball, ice hockey or field hockey.
    • Team Logo: click Upload Logo and pick an image. A preview shows, and "Logo Uploaded" confirms it.
    • Primary Color and Secondary Color: use the color picker or type a hex code like #1E3A8A.
  4. Click Create Team.

The form recommends a logo of 250 x 250 pixels and under 100 KB. PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP and SVG files work. A square logo with a transparent background looks cleanest on the graphics.

TipA team belongs to one sport. If your school plays several, save one team per sport, each with that sport's roster. Give them names you can tell apart in the list, but keep the name the broadcast should show.

How a saved team fills a new match

When you create a match, the Teams Setup step has Select from My Teams for the away and home team. The list shows your saved teams for that match's sport. Pick one and ScoreCastr fills in:

  • the team name and scorebug name (if you left Scorebug Name blank, the first 4 letters of the name)
  • the mascot and logo
  • the Primary Color, as the match's team color
  • the roster, with "✓ Roster loaded" and the player count next to the label

The secondary color stays on the saved team; it isn't copied into the match. See Create your first match for the rest of the setup.

Edit a team

On My Teams, the Team Management table lists each team with its logo, name, sport, scorebug name, mascot and colors.

  • Click the edit button to open Edit Team, change any field and click Update Team.
  • Click the team's name to open its page, with the roster and more.

Changes to the name, colors or logo apply to matches you create afterwards. Matches you already created keep what they were made with; change those on the match itself. See Edit match details.

The team page

Click a team's name to open its page. It shows the sport, scorebug name, mascot and colors at the top, then tabs:

  • Team Roster: jersey numbers, names, positions and years. See Import a roster.
  • Team Details: home venue, city, state and coaching staff.
  • Season Stats: up to four stat categories for each of 11 players.
  • Sport tabs: Formation & Starters for soccer, Defensive Lineup and Batting Order for baseball and softball, Offensive Starters and Defensive Starters for football.

Team Details and Season Stats are kept for your records; the graphics don't read them. Back to Teams returns to the list.

Manage several teams

  • Use the filter buttons under My Teams (All, Soccer, Baseball and so on) to show one sport at a time.
  • Save both of your regular opponents too, not only your own team, so both sides of a match fill in from the list.
  • Click the trash button to delete a team and confirm. This can't be undone, but matches already created keep their team details.

Graphics like Player Bio find a team's roster by its name. Two saved teams with the same name can show the wrong players, so keep one team per name. See Same team twice in the list.
