A player bio is the card you put up when a player scores or steps to the line: their number, name, position and a line about them. The roster you save in My Teams does half of that work. This guide explains what the roster supplies, what you add for each game, and how to set things up so a bio takes seconds during play.
What comes from the roster
The Team Roster tab on a team's page holds four things per player: Jersey #, Name, Position and Year. When you pick a player in Select Player from Roster, the Player Bio graphic gets:
| Roster field | Fills | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Player Name | Exactly as typed in the roster |
| Jersey # | Player Number | |
| Position | Player Position | Shortened, for example Point Guard becomes PG |
| Year | Nothing | Type it into Player Information if you want it on air |
The Headline and Player Information are not stored on the team. You type them in each match. The team page's Team Details and Season Stats tabs don't feed the graphic either.
How positions are shortened
ScoreCastr turns the roster position into a short code for the graphic. Most positions have a standard code:
| Sport | Examples |
|---|---|
| Soccer, field hockey | Goalkeeper GK, Defender DF, Midfielder MF, Forward FW, Striker ST, Center Back CB |
| Basketball | Point Guard PG, Shooting Guard SG, Small Forward SF, Power Forward PF, Guard G, Center C |
| Football | Quarterback QB, Running Back RB, Wide Receiver WR, Tight End TE, Linebacker LB, Cornerback CB, Kicker K |
| Baseball, softball | Pitcher P, Catcher C, First Base 1B, Shortstop SS, Center Field CF, Designated Hitter DH |
| Ice hockey | Center C, Left Wing LW, Right Wing RW |
A position without a standard code gets its first three letters instead. That gives codes like SET (Setter), LIB (Libero) and OUT (Outside Hitter) for volleyball, GOA (Goaltender) and DEF (Defenseman) for ice hockey, and OFF for Offensive Guard. If you'd rather show something else, type over Player Position after you pick the player.
Prepare the roster for bios
- Spell names the way they should read on air. The graphic uses the roster name as it is, so fix nicknames, capitals and accents in My Teams, not mid-game.
- Give every player a name. Rows with only a number don't show in the player list.
- Fill in positions. Without one, the position on the graphic stays empty.
- Keep one team per name. The match finds the roster by the team's name. See Same team twice in the list.
To load a whole roster at once, see Import a roster.
Fill in a bio during the match
- Open Overlays, then Customization, then Away Player Bio (or Home Player Bio).
- In Select Player from Roster, pick the player. The list shows number, name and position.
- Type a Headline, like "SENIOR NIGHT" or "2 GOALS TONIGHT".
- Type Player Information: class, height, a stat or a fact.
- Show it with Show Away Player Bio in the Overlay Visibility panel.
The full set of options, and how Classic, Apex and Primetime draw the card, are in Player stats and player bios.
Fix common problems
"No player roster found for" and the team name. No saved team has that name, or its roster has no players. Check the match's team name matches the team in My Teams exactly, and save the roster.
The list shows the wrong players. You have two saved teams with the same name. Delete the one you don't use.
A player is missing from the list. Their roster row has no name. Add it in My Teams and save.
The position reads oddly, like FUL. The roster position has no standard code. Type the code you want into Player Position.
