Two graphics carry the story of a game. Before kickoff, Keys to the Match tells viewers what each team needs to do. At the break, the stats comparison shows who's actually doing it. This guide covers both: what to type, which stats fill in by themselves and what Apex and Primetime add.
Keys to the Match
Every sport except swimming has this graphic. Open Overlays, then Customization, then Keys to Match.
- Type a Title, like "Keys to the game".
- Fill in the keys:
- Team sports: Away Team Keys and Home Team Keys, four each (Away Key 1 to Away Key 4).
- MMA: Fighter 1 Keys and Fighter 2 Keys, four each.
- Tennis and pickleball: one list, Key Point 1 to Key Point 4.
- Check the switch under each key (Show Key, or Show Line for key points). Only keys with the switch on go on air. Key Point 1 always shows.
- Optional: Upload Logo.
Show it with Show Keys to the Match in the Overlay Visibility panel, or code 1006.
If you leave the Title empty, Apex and Primetime use "KEYS TO THE GAME" for team sports and "KEYS TO THE MATCH" for tennis, pickleball and MMA.
The halftime stats graphic and its names
Football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, ice hockey, field hockey, baseball and softball have a stats comparison. The tab in Customization has a different name per sport:
| Sport | Customization tab | Overlay Visibility button |
|---|---|---|
| Football, basketball, soccer, field hockey | Halftime Stats | Show Halftime Stats |
| Volleyball | Match Stats | Show Halftime Stats |
| Ice hockey | Period Stats | Show Halftime Stats |
| Baseball, softball | Game Stats | Show Game Stats |
The shortcut code is 1020 in every sport. MMA, tennis, pickleball and swimming don't have this graphic.
Pick your five stats
The graphic shows five rows. Under Stat Categories, each Category has a dropdown of that sport's stats. Pick one per row, top to bottom.
Leave Manual off and the row fills in from the dashboard as you score. These stats fill in on their own:
| Sport | Stats that fill in |
|---|---|
| Basketball | All twelve, including FG%, 3P% and FT% |
| Ice hockey | All twelve |
| Field hockey | All eleven |
| Football | Total, passing and rushing yards, first downs, 3rd down conv, red zone eff, turnovers, sacks, penalties, penalty yards |
| Soccer | Possession, shots, shots on target, corners, fouls |
| Volleyball | Kills, aces, blocks, digs |
| Baseball, softball | Hits, runs, errors, strikeouts, pitch count, walks, home runs |
Any other stat in the list shows 0 unless you turn Manual on. Volleyball's default list includes ASSISTS, which doesn't fill in, so swap it or type it by hand. The counts come from the dashboard's stats cards (Starter plan). See Record stats and game events.
Manual mode
For a stat you track on paper, like soccer passes or volleyball assists:
- Click Manual on that category so it reads ON.
- Type each team's number in the Away and Home boxes.
- Update them before you show the graphic. They save a moment after you stop typing.
Turn Manual off to go back to the live count. Picking a different stat in the dropdown turns Manual off and clears the numbers.
Title and logos
- Title: if you leave it empty, Classic shows HALFTIME STATS (GAME STATS in baseball and softball). Apex and Primetime use MATCH STATS for volleyball and INTERMISSION STATS for ice hockey.
- Use Starters Logos: on by default. The header takes its logos from your Starters graphics unless you upload your own.
- Network Logo (Left) and Sponsor Logo (Right) go in the header.
- Away Team Logo Override and Home Team Logo Override: set Override to ON to upload a different team logo for this graphic.
Comparison bars on Apex and Primetime
On an Apex or Primetime match, the tab has a Show Comparison Bars switch. It draws a bar in team colors under each stat row, showing each team's share. It starts on. Both templates also highlight the team that leads each row, and for stats like turnovers, fouls and errors, the lower number leads.
On Classic, colors are set in the tab's color panel. On Apex and Primetime, colors come from Graphics Template, then Colors. See Switch templates.
