Record stats and game events

Count shots, fouls, aces and more as the game goes, and put any team stat on the scorebug with one click. Stat tracking comes with the Starter plan.

Stats give your stream something to talk about between scores: who's winning the shots battle, how many fouls a team has, how the pitcher is holding up. ScoreCastr lets the scorekeeper count them on the dashboard and put any one of them on the scorebug when it matters. This guide covers the common pattern; each sport's guide lists its own stats.

Short versionOn the Scoring tab, open your sport's stats card (usually TEAM STATISTICS) and use the plus and minus buttons for each team. Click the eye button next to a stat to show it on the scorebug. Stats need the Starter plan.

Where stats live

Stats are on the Scoring tab, below the score and clock. Most sports have a TEAM STATISTICS card. Some use their own names:

Sport Stats cards
Football TEAM STATISTICS, QUARTERBACK CONTROLS, PENALTIES
Basketball TEAM STATISTICS
Volleyball, ice hockey, field hockey TEAM STATISTICS
Ice hockey also PENALTIES & POWER PLAY
Soccer MATCH STATISTICS
Baseball, softball BATTING, TEAM STATS, PITCHING
MMA FIGHTER STATISTICS

Most cards open and close from their header, so you can keep the ones you use in view.

These cards come with the Starter plan. On Free they show as a dimmed preview with Upgrade Now. The score, clock and period controls work on every plan.

Record a stat

Each stat has a row with the away team on the left and the home team on the right:

  1. Find the stat's row, for example Aces in volleyball.
  2. Click + on the team's side to add one, or - to take one away.

The count saves straight away. In many sports the minus button is greyed out at zero.

Some stats fill in for you. In basketball, picking a team, a shot type (3-PT, 2-PT or FT) and MAKE or MISS in the SCORING card adds the shot to that team's shooting stats as well as the score.

In many sports the stat buttons lock once Set FINAL is on, so the final numbers stay as they were.

Show a stat on the scorebug

Next to each stat's name is an eye button. Click it and that stat appears on the scorebug for both teams.

  • Only one stat shows at a time. Clicking another stat's eye button swaps to that one.
  • Click the same eye button again to take it off.
  • The numbers stay current while the stat is on screen, so you can leave it up while you keep counting.

Football, basketball, volleyball, ice hockey, field hockey and MMA have stat popups.

TipShow a stat during a dead ball or a break, when viewers have time to read it, and take it off before play restarts.

Record game events

Some events are more than a number. They have their own cards on the Scoring tab:

  • Penalties: football's PENALTIES card and ice hockey's PENALTIES & POWER PLAY.
  • Cards: field hockey's CARDS & SUSPENSIONS, and yellow and red cards in soccer.
  • Shootouts: field hockey's PENALTY SHOOTOUT and soccer's PENALTY KICKS.
  • Batters and pitchers: baseball and softball's BATTING and PITCHING cards.

Field hockey's cards and shootout and soccer's cards and penalty kicks work on every plan. The football, ice hockey, baseball and softball cards above need Starter. Each works differently; see Stats by sport and your sport's guide.

The Match Statistics card

The sidebar on the right of the dashboard has a Match Statistics card. It's a read-only summary of the match: the score by period and the main team stats, so you can check the numbers at a glance. You can't change anything from it.

It shows for every sport except MMA and swimming, and comes with the Starter plan.

Put stats on bigger graphics

The scorebug popup shows one stat. For more, Starter includes full graphics you show from the Overlay Visibility panel:

  • Halftime Stats compares the two teams side by side. Baseball and softball call it Game Stats.
  • Away Player Stats and Home Player Stats show one player's numbers.

Fill them in under Overlays, then Customization. See Show and hide graphics.

Linked to StatsCastr

On the Pro plan, a stat crew can keep player stats in StatsCastr and send them to the Player Stats graphics. The score, clock and game state stay yours. See Link StatsCastr.
