Players come and go all game, and some of your graphics need to know who's on. ScoreCastr handles this differently by sport: some sports track who's on the floor, soccer puts the change on screen, and baseball and football follow the current batter, pitcher or quarterback. This guide shows which sports do what and where to find it.
Which sports have substitutions
| Sport | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Basketball | Tracks the five on the court | SUBSTITUTIONS card, Starter plan |
| Ice hockey | Tracks the skaters and the goalie | SUBSTITUTIONS / LINES card |
| Soccer | Shows a substitution graphic | SUBSTITUTIONS section |
| Baseball, softball | Follows the current batter and pitcher | BATTING and PITCHING cards, Starter plan |
| Football | Follows each team's quarterback | QUARTERBACK CONTROLS card, Starter plan |
Volleyball, field hockey, MMA, tennis and pickleball don't have substitution controls.
Basketball and ice hockey lineups
These cards use the team rosters, so the match needs teams with players. Pick saved teams from My Teams when you create the match (saved teams come with the Starter plan).
Each team has its own side of the card. Players show by jersey number.
- Basketball: Active (5) shows the five on the court, and Bench (10) the players on the bench.
- Ice hockey: Skaters (5), Goalie and Bench. Backup goalies on the roster show under Backup G.
To make a substitution:
- Click the player coming off: one of the Active (5) in basketball, or one of the Skaters (5) or the Goalie in ice hockey.
- Click the player going on, under Bench (in ice hockey, a goalie under Backup G replaces the goalie).
- Click Swap Players. It appears once you've picked one of each.
Click a selected number again to unselect it. In basketball, bench spots without a player are greyed out.
Soccer substitutions
Soccer's SUBSTITUTIONS section, on the Scoring tab, puts the change on the overlay. It doesn't need a roster.
- Type the jersey numbers in Away In # and Away Out # (or Home In # and Home Out #).
- Click Away Sub or Home Sub.
The button stays grey until both numbers are filled in. For more, see Soccer substitutions.
Batters, pitchers and quarterbacks
In baseball and softball, the BATTING card holds each team's current batter and the PITCHING card each team's pitcher. Choose them from the dropdown (Select a batter, Select a pitcher) when the team has a roster, or type a name. See Pitcher stats.
In football, QUARTERBACK CONTROLS sets each team's quarterback for the passing line on the scorebug.
Lineup graphics
Starting lineups are full graphics, set up before the game and shown from the Overlay Visibility panel. They come with the Starter plan.
| Graphic | Sports |
|---|---|
| Away Starters, Home Starters | Football, basketball, volleyball, ice hockey, field hockey, baseball, softball |
| Away Defense, Home Defense | Football, baseball, softball |
Fill them in under Overlays, then Customization, in the graphic's section. Baseball and softball defense has its own guide: Defense on the diamond.
Fix common problems
The bench is empty or greyed out. The team has no roster on this match. Use saved teams with players from My Teams.
Swap Players doesn't appear. Pick one player from each row first.
Away Sub or Home Sub is greyed out. Fill in both the in and out numbers. The buttons also lock once the match is complete.
