A soccer clock almost never stops, so the scorebug's job is to keep time, show the score and flag the moments that matter: goals, cards, subs and added time. The ScoreCastr soccer dashboard has a card for each of those. This guide covers the clock, the halves, scoring and the stats panel, with links to the deeper guides on cards, subs and shootouts.

Short versionPick Count Up to 45 or Count Down from 45, then START CLOCK at kickoff. Score with AWAY GOAL or HOME GOAL. Add stoppage with the + button and click SHOW STOPPAGE. Use Complete 1st half, Complete HT and Complete 2nd half to move through the match.

Set up the match

Create the match: pick Soccer, name both teams and set their four-character scorebug names. See Create your first match. Open it with Control Dashboard and stay on the Scoring tab. Halves are 45 minutes.

Run the clock

The GAME CLOCK card:

  1. Choose the timer mode: Count Up to 45 or Count Down from 45. You can only change it while the clock is stopped, and changing it resets the clock.
  2. Click START CLOCK at kickoff and STOP CLOCK when you need to.
  3. Use the plus and minus buttons beside the clock to add or take away a minute or a second. They only work while the clock is stopped.
  4. RESET stops the clock and sets it back to the start of the half.
  5. HIDE CLOCK takes the clock off the scorebug.

Counting up, the clock stops itself at 45:00 in the first half and 90:00 in the second. Counting down, it stops at 00:00.

Add stoppage time

Under STOPPAGE TIME:

  1. Use + and - to set the minutes the fourth official shows.
  2. Click SHOW STOPPAGE. The scorebug shows it as +3 next to the clock or in the sponsor spot, depending on the template.
  3. HIDE STOPPAGE takes it off. CLEAR sets it back to 0 and hides it.

SHOW STOPPAGE stays greyed out until the number is above 0. Stoppage doesn't clear itself when the half ends, so click CLEAR at half time.

Move through the halves

The PERIOD CONTROLS card shows the current period and one big button:

  • Complete 1st half stops the clock and goes to half time (HT).
  • Complete HT starts the second half at 45:00, stopped. Click START CLOCK at the restart.
  • Complete 2nd half goes to Full Time and ends the match.

The Select Period dropdown does the same steps. It only moves forward one step at a time. You can't go back to an earlier period except with Reset Match on the Game Actions tab.

Watch outFull Time ends the match and locks the controls. If the game goes to penalties, run the shootout before you click Complete 2nd half. See Soccer penalty shootouts.

Score goals and name the scorer

In SCORING CONTROLS:

  • AWAY GOAL and HOME GOAL add a goal and play the GOAL takeover on the scorebug for a few seconds. Use these for real goals.
  • The small - and + next to each team fix the score without the animation.
  • Each goal also counts a shot and a shot on target.

To show who scored, fill in the team's number box (Away #), Away Player Name and Min, then click Away Scorer. A strip like GOAL #10 Name (23') shows under the scorebug for a few seconds. The button stays greyed out until all three boxes are filled. The scorer is a separate step from the goal, so click the goal button first.

The same card has the yellow and red card buttons (Soccer cards) and SHOW SPONSOR LOGO, which turns the scorebug's sponsor spot on and off. Below it are SUBSTITUTIONS (Soccer substitutions) and PENALTY KICKS (Soccer penalty shootouts).

Team stats and the stats panel

The MATCH STATISTICS card comes with the Starter plan.

  • Count CORNERS, SHOTS, SHOTS ON TARGET, OFFSIDES and FOULS with the plus and minus buttons.
  • Pick up to four stats in the four dropdowns (Goals, Shots, Shots on Target, Corners, Fouls, Yellow Cards, Red Cards, Offsides).
  • Click Stat Dropdown In to drop those stats under the scorebug, and Stat Dropdown Out to take them away.

Your four picks are saved in that browser, so set them on the computer you'll run the game from.

Soccer graphics

On the Starter plan, soccer has a Halftime Stats graphic, an Away Lower Third and a Home Lower Third, plus the title card, scoreboard, player bios and the other shared graphics, under Overlays, then Customization. Soccer doesn't have a starting lineup graphic. The sidebar has Download Box Score for a PDF of the match.

On Apex and Primetime, the Halftime Stats tab has a Show Comparison Bars switch, and the shootout can go past five kicks. See Switch templates.

Stream Deck codes

Soccer codes run from 2100 to 2135. Codes need Listening Mode, which comes with the Starter plan.

2100 / 2101 Start / Stop Clock
2104 / 2105 Show / Hide Stoppage Time
