Apex and Primetime extras by sport

Apex and Primetime can show things Classic can't, like team fouls and the bonus, set scores, shots on goal and the line score. Here's every extra control, sport by sport.

Updated 4 min readStarter

Apex and Primetime draw more than Classic: a team fouls bar in basketball, set-by-set scores in volleyball, a line score in baseball. The controls for these extras only appear on the dashboard when the match uses one of those templates, so a Classic dashboard never changes. This guide lists every extra, where its control is and what it starts at.

Short versionSwitch the match to Apex or Primetime (Starter plan) and new buttons appear, mostly in your sport's Shortcuts card on the Scoring tab. Both templates have the same extras. Your choices are saved with the match.

How extras work

  • Same on both templates. Apex and Primetime have every extra in this guide. Switching between them keeps your settings.
  • They're saved with the match. A show or hide choice, like SHOW TEAM FOULS, is stored on the match, so every device and every overlay sees the same thing.
  • Classic ignores them. Switch a match back to Classic and the controls disappear. Switch to Apex or Primetime again and your choices are still there.
  • Some are on from the start. The defaults are in the tables below.

To change a match's template, see Switch templates.

Two notes:

  • Bonus rule has three choices: 7 and 10 (bonus at 7, double bonus at 10), 5, no double bonus and Off. It counts the other team's fouls. When you create an Apex or Primetime basketball match, the new-match page asks for it too. See Run a basketball game.
  • AUTO SET / MATCH POINT assumes sets to 25, a deciding set to 15 and win by two. For a best-of-five match, turn it off and use the Set Point and Match Point buttons. See Run a volleyball match.

More detail is in each sport's guide: football, soccer shootouts, ice hockey, field hockey, baseball and softball.

MMA, tennis and pickleball

Sport Control Where Starts What it does
MMA KNOCKDOWN, TAKEDOWN Shortcuts card Always Adds the stat and plays the flag
Tennis, pickleball AUTO POINT TAB Under the scoring controls On BREAK POINT, SET POINT, GAME POINT or MATCH POINT from the score
Tennis, pickleball Player 1 Record, Player 2 Record Overlays, Customization, Title Card Empty Records on the title card

The button reads AUTO POINT TAB: ON or AUTO POINT TAB: OFF. MMA has its fighter record fields on every template. See Run an MMA fight, Run a tennis match and Run a pickleball match.

Extras on the shared graphics

These are on the graphics every sport has, under Overlays, then Customization:

Graphic Control Starts What it does
Halftime stats (Match Stats, Period Stats, Game Stats) Show Comparison Bars On A team-color bar under each stat row
Talent Bar Talent 1 Role, Talent 2 Role Empty A role under each announcer's name
Scrolling Ticker Label and Show Label Off A fixed label block at the start of the ticker

See Keys to the match and halftime stats, Lower thirds and talent and Add a scrolling ticker.

Fix common problems

I don't see the buttons. The match is on Classic, or the button belongs to a different card. Check Graphics Template under Overlays, then Customization.

The button didn't change. The choice didn't save. Check the status dot at the top of the dashboard and click again. See The status dot.

The extra is on but the overlay doesn't show it. Check the account is on the Starter plan or higher. If the plan went back to Free, overlays show Classic even though the match still lists Apex or Primetime. See Plans explained.
